Early Life and Introduction to Cricket: Born on January 20, 1994, in Anand, Gujarat, Axar Rajeshbhai Patel is a prominent figure in Indian cricket. Also known as Akshar Patel, he is a left-arm orthodox spinner and a handy lower-order batsman. Patel’s journey in cricket began at a young age, honing his skills in the streets of Gujarat before catching the attention of selectors with his impressive performances in domestic cricket.

Rise in Domestic Cricket: Patel’s rise in domestic cricket was swift. Despite playing just one first-class game in his debut season for Gujarat, he showcased his talent and potential in the 2013 season. His consistent performances for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy earned him recognition as a promising all-rounder.

IPL Success and International Debut: Patel’s talents were further recognized when he secured an IPL contract with Mumbai Indians in 2013. Although he didn’t get many opportunities with Mumbai Indians, his fortunes changed when he joined Kings XI Punjab in the subsequent season. International Career: Patel made his international debut for India in ODIs against Bangladesh in 2014, marking the beginning of a fruitful international career. He subsequently made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and has since been a regular member of India’s limited-overs squads. His impressive bowling figures in Test cricket, with 55 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 19.34, highlight his effectiveness as a spinner. In ODIs and T20Is too, Patel has been a consistent performer, picking up crucial wickets for the team.
